All I've seen about this one is that, it has worse graphics, better looking cast (but the old cast gets horrible new costumes, at least Lightning) and way to completely destroy the typical role-playing gameplay... by adding Quick-time events. MASH TRIANGLE TO SPAM THIS ATTACK.

( I like QTEs in other games such as action games, but RPGs, come on. )

Famitsu.com, Impress Watch and 4Gamer all today released impressions of a play-through of the first three chapters of the game and information about saving and leveling up, among other things.

For the first time in a main-series title you can save whenever and wherever you want. There’s also no transition between the field and towns. Instead you can wander seamlessly into the various settlements you encounter.

The Crystarium returns but it’s had some work done. Instead of having different Crystaria for each role, you have one big one that covers all roles. Much like the Sphere Grid in Final Fantasy X, each role will have a different growth path. Your monster friends level up with items and can learn new abilities.

Rawr, the seamless travelling sounds promising, I wonder. For saves, meh, autosaves right before battles did their job.

Why do we always get these cheesy CG images? I want my Amano art dammit. That reminds me, I should see if the new VHD is out.

GI gave it an 8/10. They liked the gameplay but hated the plot.

I'm really starting to think the good writers are moving on to do greater things, which is really sad for a big series like FF
