Well, Santa decided to drop by a little bit early and handed me a beta invite for Diablo 3! That’s the reason why we do not have Wallpaper Wednesday. Instead I will be posting the walls later this Thursday evening.
For now let us take a quick look at the Diablo 3 Beta by Blizzard. Beta testing have started quite a while back and I think they are now down to the last 500 invites or so. This beta version gives players a chance to use the five classes — barbarian, witch doctor, wizard, monk, and demon hunter. And it also allows testers to play through a part of Act I, up to the Skeleton King. I’ve played for an hour and I think I am halfway through.
Installation
Installing the game is easy and straight forward. I downloaded a small file and it downloads the rest of the installation files online. It is about 3 GB so it does take a while to download. I have not checked out the game requirements because I have a fairly new computer. But if you are playing any decent game online I am sure that your computer would be able to handle D3 at the very least on medium settings.
Gameplay and graphics
Like Diablo I and Diablo II, pretty much a hack and slash game. I’m glad I do not have to pick up the gold one by one, just run over it and your character picks it up automatically. There are a lot of skills to use but I can’t comment on it right now because I have like, 3 skills and I only need to use one to bash everything out there. For the graphics, absolutely beautiful and I have everything maxed out. Sometimes I wish I could rotate the camera so I can view the game on different angles.
That’s all for the quick look for now, I am only level 6 on my barbarian so nothing much to see yet. I’m thinking of doing a stream but I’m not sure if there’s anyone who will be interested. Maybe I will setup one just for kicks and go through all the characters.
